Our classes are designed for gymnasts of all abilities, from the age of 6, and are split into age groups. The recreational sessions are designed with fun at heart and are an hour long. Young gymnasts are also placed in these sessions to develop their skills ready for possible inclusion in our competitive squad sessions. Recreational gymnasts can wear shorts and T-shirt or a leotard. Leotards are available to buy at our gym, in the welcome hall.
Gymnasts may, at a later date, may be selected for our squad sessions, where they will train for competition work. Squad training is more structured and gymnasts are expected to do strength and flexibility work during their session and also at home. Squad gymnasts must wear leotards during their session and during competitions are expected to wear our club leotard and jumper. These are available to buy for squad girls on request at our gym.
We also run an improvers squad, recreational gymnastics may be invited into this class for further development, with the prospect of being moved into a competitive squad class. Also competitive squad girls may be moved into this class to work on their core strength and flexibility, if they fail to improve in squads.
